By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 19: The government has extended the term of the inquiry committee formed to settle the dispute related to the electricity tariff of customers of the dedicated feeders and trunk lines by one month.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Sunday decided this.
The government had formed a three-member committee headed by former Supreme Court justice Girish Chandra Lal on January 9.
According to Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, the Cabinet meeting has also decided to form a working group under the coordination of the secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs to study and submit the modified draft within two months after studying the procedure for determining and reviewing the percentage of disabled persons injured in the armed conflict.
The government has sacked executive director Bikal Poudel of the Security Printing Centre, Panauti, Kavre, after it was found that he has obtained a US legal permanent resident permit.
Similarly, the Cabinet meeting has approved the National Broadcasting 12th Amendment Rules, 2080.
The government has allowed tabling of a bill to amend the Banks and Financial Institutions Act, 2073 in the Federal Parliament. Further, the government has approved the Probation and Parole Policy, 2080.
The Cabinet meeting has appointed Dr. Chandika Prasad Bhatta as executive director of Nepal Oil Corporation, Bhupendra Bhandari as the Chairman of Nepal Telecommunication Authority and Dr. Pramod Joshi as member secretary of Nepal Health Research Council.
Minister Sharma said that the Cabinet meeting decided to send the report of the committee formed to study and investigate the sale and purchase of shares of Ncell to the relevant authorities for implementation.
