Applications open for VCs in eight universities

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May. 9: The committee formed to recommend Vice Chancellors has invited applications for the position of Vice Chancellor at eight different universities.

Issuing a notice on Friday, the committee called for applications for the post of VC in Tribhuvan University, Purbanchan University, Pokhara University, Lumbini Buddhist University, Agriculture and Forestry University, Mid-West University, Far Western University, and Rajarshi Janak University.

The committee also released ‘Integrated Procedures for the Selection and Recommendation of Different Universities’ VC, 2083’ on the website of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

Announcing that appointments will be made on an open competition based at universities, the government earlier formed a three-member recommendation committee led by Education, Science and Technology Minister Sasmit Pokharel on Wednesday.

The committee members include the Education Secretary and education-related member of the National Planning Commission. The positions of all university officials were annulled through an ordinance.
