Koshi Province Health Policy-2082 launched

Morang, Aug 24: The Health Ministry of Koshi Province government has unveiled 'Koshi Province Health Policy-2082' today.     

According to the Health Ministry, the policy was launched with an objective of enabling all citizens of the province to be physically, mentally, socially and emotionally healthy and live a productive life.     

The health policy has incorporated six objectives, 26 policies and strategies, according to Information Officer at Health Ministry, Dr Kenin Rai. A cabinet meeting of Koshi province held on August 1 had approved the province health policy.     

The province health policy has been uploaded at website and ministry's official facebook page, he added.     

The issues likes lack of sufficient and managed infrastructures for affordable and quality basic health services in province, lack of quotas of human resources as per the required of health sector, lack of appropriate management of available human resources, lack of enough and proper investment in health sector have been incorporated in the policy as the problems.     

Similarly, the health policy mentioned lack of expansion of specialist medical services and incentive care unit, anemia among one-third children below five years, tuberculosis, and the high infection rate of insect-borne diseases in the province as the man problems.(RSS)
