Biratnagar, June 4: Biratnagar Metropolitan City has secured the goal of ensuring full vaccination.
The metropolis's vaccination branch has stated that the target has been achieved after effectively implementing the full vaccination assurance and sustainability programme and reaching 11,630 children aged 0 to 59 months with full vaccination coverage.
According to the Biratnagar Metropolitan City, among the children who have received full vaccination, there are 2,139 aged 0 to 11 months, 977 aged 12 to 15 months, 1,548 aged 16 to 23 months, and 6,966 aged 24 to 59 months.
With this achievement, Ramesh Karki, Senior Public Health Officer of the Metropolitan City, said that Biratnagar has made the campaign to protect children against vaccine-preventable diseases more institutionalized and sustainable.
He mentioned that the vaccination campaign has made a significant contribution to reducing child mortality, lowering the risk of diseases, and building a healthy society.
Vaccination Coordinator Sushil Sah said that the full vaccination programme has been playing an important role in protecting children from diseases such as measles, rubella, polio, tuberculosis, diphtheria, whooping cough, and tetanus.
Chief of Biratnagar Metropolitan City, Health Department, Dr. Dilip Kumar Yadav, said that achieving full vaccination coverage is an important success of the local government in the health sector. (RSS)
