Thai Film Festival from August 30

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 27: Thai Film Festival Nepal 2024 is set to be held in Kathmandu from August 30 to September 1.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Nepal announced the 3-day film festival at a press conference organised at the embassy on Monday.  

Thai Ambassador Suwapong Sirisorn said that the festival is being organised to mark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Thailand.  The festival will be held at the QFX Chhaya cinema hall and will feature six films.

This is the 4th edition of the festival. 

The films to be screened at the festival span genres such as drama, comedy, romance, horror, and those based on Thailand’s martial arts.

 The festival will begin with the screening of  ‘How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies’ based on the real-life story of contemporary 

Thai society. Other films include ‘Pad Thai Movie’, ‘Together: The Movie’,  ‘Undertaker’,  ‘Dream a Little Dream’ and ‘Broken Sword Hero’. 

Ambassador Sirisorn expressed hope that the films would be well-received by Nepali audiences.

“The Thai Embassy is organising this festival in Nepal to celebrate the long-standing friendship between Nepal and Thailand and to connect with the Nepali people through the universal language of film,” the ambassador stated.
