By Our Correspondent,Pokhara, Aug. 23: A musical event and dance party called ‘Raintertainment’  is set to take place in Pokhara.

This entertainment event, which has been organised annually during the rainy season by Byanjan Restaurant, will be held on Friday at Byanjan in Lakeside and on Saturday at The Beach Bar in Pame, informed the organiser.

Participants in the event will enjoy live music, dance, fashion shows, and a fusion of the rain, said Manoj Bhatt, the manager of Byanjan and the event coordinator.

“This will be a package of entertainment for the customers, and I believe this event will attract not only domestic but also international tourists to Pokhara,” he said. Baibhav Poudel, organiser and owner of Byanjan Restaurant, said that Pokhara is one of the places which receives more rainfall, and they decided to link rain, Pokhara, and tourism with this event.

“June and July are the rainiest months, and tourism here slows down significantly during this time. We are organising this event with the intention of promoting tourism. Even if it doesn’t rain that day, we will create artificial rain for the event,” he added.

He also said that models will be showcased on the ramp in the rain. “We are planning to bring models on the ramp with a summer theme. We believe this will add glamour to the event,” he said.

The event will feature performances by nationally and internationally renowned artists, claimed the organiser.

The theme of dancing, singing and dining in the rain has been well-received in the past. Party lovers from Kathmandu, Chitwan, Butwal, Dharan, Damauli, India, Thailand, and other countries have come to Pokhara specifically for this event, said the orgranisers.
