‘Aamako Mamata’ wins music video award in the USA

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 25: The music video ‘Aamako Mamata’ (Mother’s Love) won the Best Asian Music Video 2024 award at the Movie and Music Video Awards held in Los Angeles, USA recently. 

Many films, short films, documentaries, music videos and filmmakers from around 105 countries, including the USA, Canada, India, China, South Korea, Australia and the UK competed for the award. The ‘Aamako Mamta’ music video is directed by Vidhan Karki, a director who has won many international awards for Nepali music videos. 

He has previously won awards in India as well.

 It has proved that Nepali music videos are of international calibre and capable of strong competition, said director Karki. 

 The song features the voice of Ramakrishna Dhakal, with lyrics by Arjun Subedi and music by Arjun Pokharel. 

Produced by Nakshatra Productions, this music video tells the poignant story of parents who give love to an orphaned child and their struggles after separation and subsequent success.

The video stars Sunil Thapa, Hiunwala Gautam, Gaurav Pahari, Sridev BL, and Dyan Gautam. 

It was shot by Utsav Dahal and edited by Bikas Dahal.

 Manisha Pokharel worked as the art director and Deepen Gautam designed the production of the music video.
