By TRN Online, Kathmadnu, May 21: Minister for Finance Swarnim Wagle has sought suggestions from former finance ministers regarding the preparation of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
At a special program held in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Finance Minister Dr Wagle consulted nine former finance ministers, focusing on the priorities and challenges of the new budget.
While receiving the experience and recommendations of the former finance ministers, Dr. Wagle said, “I am in the final stage of budget preparation. I will try to move forward by following your guidance and rich experience. We are preparing a budget that will improve the living standards of all Nepali based on the foundation of good governance.”
He said, "We have all had the opportunity to lead the Ministry of Finance at different points in our lives. The political scenario might have been sometimes favorable and sometimes unfavorable, but the objective has always been sincere and agenda the same, that is, to do good for the country and its people. We must achieve prosperity for the nation by following the path shown by our predecessors and building on the foundation of this system.”
Finance Minister Dr. Wagle received suggestions from former finance ministers Rameshore Khanal, Shankar Koirala, Yubaraj Khatiwada, Prakash Chandra Lohani, Surendra Pandey, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Barshaman Pun, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, and Janardan Sharma.
