By Our Correspondent,Sankhuwasabha, Feb. 10: Two local levels of Sankhuwasabha district-- Chichila Rural Municipality and Sabhapokhari Rural Municipality-- organised a joint executive meeting and signed five different agreements for the development of their areas.
The meeting was organised on Thursday to jointly solve the common problems between the two municipalities.
In the meeting held at the office of Chichila Rural Municipality, the chairmen, vice-chairmen, executive members and chief administrative officers of both municipalities were present.
Chichila Rural Municipality Chairman Pasang Nurbu Sherpa, who also chaired the meeting, said that the joint meeting of the executive was held to share the construction of motorable bridges over the rivers between the two municipalities, physical infrastructure that concerns the two municipalities, natural resources belonging to the neighbouring municipalities and tourism promotion, among others.
Sherpa said that the joint meeting was also organised for cost reduction, maximum utilisation of resources and achieving effective services by sharing in the development works of both municipalities.
Bal Kumar Tamang, the spokesperson for Chichila Rural Municipality, said that five decisions were made at the meeting that would benefit both municipalities.
Tamang said that there was a need for a motorable bridge over the Orang River between Ward Number 2 of Sabapokhari and Ward Number 5 of Chichila Rural Municipality. The meeting also decided to take a collective initiative at the higher authorities to build the bridge at that place and if it had to be constructed in partnership, Chichila and Sabhapokhari would build it with equal investment.
