Karnali, May 6: The 11th meeting of the Karnali Province Coordination Council has begun today in Birendranagar of Surkhet. The meeting is being chaired by Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel.
The meeting is scheduled to review the decisions of the 10th meeting, discuss job descriptions and deliveries of local-level employees, development projects to be implemented by the province and local levels, coordination and interrelations on the local level-province concurrent rights, revenue to be transferred from the local levels to the province, and the proposed polices, programmes and budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
According to province government Chief Secretary Birendra Kumar Yadav, the meeting is expected to focus on strengthening coordination between the province and local levels, enhancing capacity for arrears settlement, documenting laws enacted at the local levels, and addressing issues related to the law enforcement issues.
Among those attending the meeting are Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Rajeev Bikram Shah, council members, chiefs and representatives of the Municipal Association of Nepal (MuAN), National Association of Rural Municipalities in Nepal (NARMIN), Association of District Coordination Committees of Nepal (ADCCN) and other invited members.
