Mahendranagar, May 30: A team from the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal successfully rescued 20 individuals trapped in floods from the Doda and Bahun rivers in Kanchanpur.

The operation involved the rescue of five local women who had sought refuge in a nearby forest due to rising water levels in the Doda River, as reported by the Armed Police Force No. 7 Vaidyanath Battalion in Attariya.

The rescue efforts were led by Deputy Inspector Shanta Bahadur Sunar, with support from Deputy Inspector General Digvijay Subedi and a disaster management-trained team. Additionally, 15 women collecting firewood and cattle fodder were safely rescued from the Bahun River in Hariyalitol Municipality-9.

The operation was a collaborative effort involving Nepal Police, local representatives, and community members.

In light of the ongoing monsoon season, the Armed Police Force Vaidyanath Bahini Headquarters has urged citizens to remain vigilant, as increased rainfall in hilly areas may lead to heightened river flows in the Tarai region.(RSS)
