Nuwakot, May 30: Minister for Information and Communications Dr Bikram Timilsina has emphasized the government's responsibility to fulfill electoral promises.
While addressing the first assembly of Tadi Rural Municipality Committee of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in the district here today, Minister Timilsina highlighted that the budget for the fiscal year 2026/27 is crafted to meet the aspirations of the youth, focusing on good governance, prosperity, and transformative change.
The budget outlines the government's economic direction, priorities, revenue policies, and long-term development vision. Dr Timilsina noted that the budget aims for effective, balanced, and inclusive development through policy reforms, marking a significant shift from previous years' scattered approaches.
He assured that the budget is centered on national needs and is designed to prevent the concentration of benefits among a powerful few. Detailed plans will be shared through the Red Book, as the budget statement cannot encompass all issues, Timilsina said.
The Minister expressed his commitment to addressing local problems and encouraged residents to voice their concerns. He reiterated that the budget is aligned with the commitments made by the ruling party during elections, aiming for equal rights in development for all citizens.
Furthermore, he stated that the budget lays the groundwork for planned development over the next 20 years and underscored the government's dedication to combating corruption and middlemanship.
Dr Timilsina acknowledged the past governance failures that led to youth dissatisfaction and a demand for alternative political power, asserting that the current government prioritizes citizen-centric policies and programmes.(RSS)
