Moderate rain with thunder and lightning likely

Kathmandu, May 30: Nepal is under the influence of a western low-pressure trough in the upper atmosphere, local winds, and a low-pressure trough near Nepal.     

Currently, Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are fully cloudy, while the hilly and mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are generally cloudy.     

Rest of the Terai region has partially cloudy skies. Moderate rainfall is occurring in one or two places in Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.     

According to the Meteorological Forecast Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the country will generally experience cloudy weather this afternoon.     

There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning and snowfall in some hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in several places of the Madhesh province. There is also a chance of gusty winds in some Terai and hilly regions.     

Tonight, the hilly and mountainous areas of Sudurpaschim Province and other parts of the country are expected to be generally cloudy.(RSS)
