Sudurpaschim Province Govt working on second five-year plan

Kailali, May 30: The Sudurpaschim Province Development Council's fourth meeting has approved the draft of the second five-year plan of the province.  

A meeting of the Council presided over by Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province Kamal Bahadur Shah approved the draft of the plan. 

With the decision, the draft will be tabled at the council of ministers of the province. The draft is prepared by the Provincial Policy and Planning Commission for the fiscal years 2083/84 BS to 2087/88 BS.

The Provincial Policy and Planning Commission stated that the draft comprises the recommendations received from stakeholders and the major takeaways of the first five-year plan of the province, 16th plan of the federal government, constitution, economic survey and other documents. 

The document has given top priority for production and productivity growth, poverty alleviation, employment generation, reforms in health and education, environment conservation and good governance. 

Likewise, the other major agendas included in the draft are agriculture, tourism, industry and service sector, transport, energy, drinking water, digital infrastructure development and social sector. (RSS)
