Baskota gets retirement

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 25: Purushottam Baskota, Administrative Officer at The Rising Nepal, the English National Daily of Gorkhapatra Corporation, got compulsory retirement on the age ground.

The Rising Nepal and the management of the corporation bade him farewell by organising separate programmes on Monday itself.

During a function held at the office of The Rising Nepal, Acting Editor-in-Chief Bhimsen Thapaliya presented Baskota with a souvenir and a shawl as a token of appreciation.

At another separate event organised by the management,  General Manager Lal Bahadur Airi bid farewell to Baskota, presenting him with certificates of appreciation and tokens of love.

Baskota dedicated 36 years, six months, and 28 days to the corporation.

He worked with 14 of the 15 Chief Editors of The Rising Nepal during his career of about 37 years. 

Meanwhile, Keshav Prasad Sapkota from the Press Section under the Production Department also retired on Monday upon reaching the mandatory retirement age.

Sapkota worked at the corporation for 30 years, 10 months, and 25 days.
