Humla women get dhaka weaving training

By Our Correspondent,Humla, Mar. 18: Dhaka weaving training has been provided to unemployed women in Humla district. 

For the first time in the district, training has been provided to create self-employment on weaving.

Ramani Bohara of Simkot Rural Municipality-5, who took a three-month dhaka weaving course, said that she learned to weave cloth mainly dhaka. 

After taking this training, it has become easy for her to become self-employed and she said that she will start a business soon. 

She urged stakeholders to support the production of dhaka garments and marketing of the same by operating a business using the skills learned.

She urged the concerned bodies to support her in operating a business with the skills she has acquired and producing dhaka cloth and marketing it.

Shree Bahadur Bista, Chief of the Consumer Rights Protection Office, said that they have conducted three-month dhaka weaving training for unemployed women in the district to make them self-employed. 

The training was provided through a skill development and self-employment-oriented programme. 

During the training, women were taught the skills of weaving hat, shawls and handicrafts from dhaka. 

He said that weaving materials, including looms, will be provided to the twelve participants with a grant of 70 per cent grant support. 

Around Rs. 172,000 has been spent to purchase the raw materials and other goods required for the training. A total of Rs. 541,000 has been spent for the training.

At the closing ceremony of the training, Chairman of Simkot Rural Municipality Bijay Bhandari urged the participants in the training to run businesses and become self-employed using the skills they learned in the training. He said that the rural municipality is ready to provide other support to the businessmen.
