blog

By Humla Correspondent,Humla, Dec.21: Most schools in the Himalayan district of Humla have been conducting their annual examinations outdoor.

Due to the shivering cold, conducting exams inside classrooms is impossible, leaving students with no choice but to sit on the open ground for their exams.

Lali Gurans Secondary School in Lipne, Sarkegad Rural Municipality-2, has arranged for students to take exams in the open field with a fire lit to keep them warm.

Sarita Shrestha, a teacher at Kalashilta Basic School in Simkot Rural Municipality-6, said that examinations of all classes are conducted in the open air.

She mentioned that students were instructed to bring mats from home to sit on during exams.

Classrooms are too cold and the decision to conduct exams outdoors was made after consultations with teachers, she added.

Dev Bahadur Budha, the headmaster of Saipal Himal Secondary School in Simkot Rural Municipality-8, confirmed that exams were being held in open fields, as classrooms were too cold.

Similarly, headmaster Kali Bahadur Mahatara said classes were also conducted outdoors due to the cold. Other schools, including Mahadev Secondary School in Chankheli Rural Municipality-2 and Mahaboudha Secondary School in Namkha Rural Municipality, have also opted for outdoor exams due to the excessive cold.
