By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 19: Rohini Rana has come up with another cooking book titled ‘The Nepal Cook Book’. The book was recently unveiled amid a programme in Kathmandu, delving into the culinary traditions of various ethnic groups from the Himalayas to the Tarai region.
This marks Rana’s second venture into Nepali gastronomy, following her previous work, ‘The Rana Cook Book’, which delved into Darwariya cuisine.
‘The Nepal Cook Book’ contains a combination of 108 delicious dishes from various ethnic communities.
It has been made attractive by the pictures of costumes and ornaments reflecting the characteristics of the respective communities.
The book launch ceremony saw esteemed figures such as Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma, former Chief of Army Gaurav Shamsher Jung Bahadur Rana, tourism entrepreneur Ambika Shrestha, CNN hero Pushpa Basnet, Agni Group's Sujan Shrestha Vaidya, Mansi Aggarwal, and the author herself came together for the special occasion.
On that occasion, Army Chief Sharma said that Nepal’s prosperity lies in various varieties and said that among them, the book written about important food has become another important link to introduce Nepal to the world community.
Gaurav Samsher Rana, the husband of the author, said that the book was prepared to introduce Nepal to the world community.
Author Rana informed that the food of the communities along with their utensils and ornaments have been combined in the book to highlight the characteristics of cooking in Nepal. The book is published by Penguin Publishing of India.
