By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 15:The release date of the first Nepali animated film, ‘Salina: Yoddha Rajkumari,’ has been announced on the occasion of Saraswati Puja.
Releasing a poster on Wednesday, the production team also announced the release date of the film. The film is set to hit local theaters on March 29.
Presented by Rainmakers Animation Academy, the film is a fantasy film made entirely with Nepali technology and in the Nepali language. No other physical characters have been used except for the background voice.
As its main audience is mostly from multiplexes, it is going to be released in such theaters in the first phase and gradually increase its shows in other single theaters as well, informed the production team. Directed by Tejas Raj Joshi, the film is produced by Tejas Raj Joshi and Shruti Shrestha.
Shiv Puri and Shruti Shrestha handled the editing, with Sagin Maharjan, Abinash Singh Tharu, and Shirbha Manandhar contributing as graphic artists in the film.
Achin Sundar Pradhan has handled the technical work of information technology and networking of the movie.
The film tells the story of Princess Salina, who, along with others, embarks on a journey, including various trainings, to defeat the biggest demon.
Rainmaker Animation Academy is an animation and visual effects academy in Nepal located in Balaju, Kathmandu, which has been providing 3D animation and visual effects training for the past 10 years.
Now the academy has taken a step into film production and is planning to produce other films in the future as well.
Benisha Khatiwada, Aditi Gyawali, Ajme Kuinkel, Jharana Rai, Tejasraj Joshi, Sushil Nepal, Dev Neupane, Shiv Puri, Yubin Pujari, Juna Thapa, Kumar Neupane and others are the voice actors in the film.
