President honours singer Menuka

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 13: President Ramchandra Paudel honoured differently-abled singer Menuka Poudel at a ceremony organised at the President’s Office in Shital Niwas on Monday.

Honouring singer Poudel, the President said that Menuka’s hard work and ability made all Nepali people proud. 

The President urged her to continue practising music and to further advance in her musical career. 

During the programme, she also sang a few patriotic songs.  She said, “I am happy to make the country proud in the international arena.” 

She expressed her happiness for the honour of the President, and added that the honour motivated her to excel and contribute to music. 

Singer Poudel returned to Nepal last week after being eliminated from the popular Indian singing reality show Indian Idol 14, securing a position in top-10. 

During her journey on Indian Idol, she mesmerised judges, guests and the Indian audience with her soulful voice.

Not only did she enthral the Indian audience, but she also received offers for playback singing in Hindi films. 

Recently, she was roped in for ‘Karmaa Meets Kismet’, another project as a playback singer. 

She had earlier made her debut as a playback singer in the South Indian film ‘Salaar’.

 Poudel is set to perform in various countries, including America, the UK, Mauritius and South Africa, with the Indian Idol team.
