Climate change is an emerging problem for humanity at present and requires urgent action. It would not be an exaggeration to say that if action is not taken right now, climate change will become the primary cause of the extinction of many species of plants and animals, including the human race. It is time for the entire globe to come together and take action to mitigate climate change and protect our mother planet for future generations against the impact of global warming.
Various human actions, especially the irrational use of fossil fuels on a large scale in industries and vehicles, are responsible for global warming and unprecedented climate change. Excessive combustion of fossil fuels emits harmful gases like carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide that act as a blanket around the earth and don’t allow the heat to escape. The present generation is responsible for the rise in global temperature that is leading to severe disruptions in weather patterns, an increase in sea level, and a gradual loss in biodiversity.
Since climate change and global warming are global issues, they cannot be stopped immediately and alone by individual efforts. To combat these issues, governments, communities, and individuals worldwide must take strong and collective action to minimise emissions and embrace sustainable practises. Controlling the irrational use of fossil fuels, adopting afforestation, and replacing non-renewable fossil fuels with renewable energy can mitigate climate change. A country like Nepal should prioritise the use of hydroelectricity and energy-efficient and eco-friendly machines to mitigate the effects of climate change. It is the responsibility of each individual and community to contribute to mitigating the effects of global warming. For this, small efforts by individuals and communities like the use of public vehicles and replacing chlorofluorocarbon (CFC)-based refrigerators with eco-friendly ones can significantly contribute to reducing climate change.
In simple terms, combating climate change necessitates an integrated approach by national and international governments, corporations, communities, and individuals. We may work towards a sustainable and resilient future by embracing renewable energy, boosting energy efficiency, implementing sustainable farming practises, protecting natural ecosystems, and increasing awareness. Acting now is our responsibility, since waiting will have serious repercussions for future generations. To solve this issue, let's come together and work cooperatively and thoroughly.
