Bagmati government's policies, programmes passed by majority

Makawanpur, June 2: The policies and programmes of the Bagmati province government for upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 were passed by a majority.

A meeting of Bagmati Province Assembly held on Tuesday rejected the amendment proposals over the policies and programmes by a majority.

Bagmati PA members—Ratna Prasad Dhakal, Laxmi Ghimire, Sushma Bhujel Neupane and Yubaraj Chaulagain had submitted separate proposals, citing it was necessary to further amend the policies and programmes. 

Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya had presented a proposal seeking deliberations on the policies and programmes in the Bagmati Province Assembly meeting held on June 1. 

Responding to queries raised by Province Assembly members during the discussion, Chief Minister Baniya shared that the budget to be introduced on June 15 would be proportional, transparent, impartial and people-oriented. 

Total 64 members had participated in the discussion on the policies and programmes. 

Deputy Speaker of the Province Assembly, Apsara Chapagain postponed the meeting till 1:00 pm on June 14. (RSS)
