By Our Correspondent, Sarlahi, Feb.13: Service seekers in Bagmati Municipality of Sarlahi district have been facing problems as the offices of its all 12 wards have been providing their services from only four places.
When three ward offices are functioning from a single building, the service seekers have to undergo several ordeals.
Bagmati Municipality was created by amalgamating previous four village development committees namely Shankarpur, Rajghat, Karmaiya and Dhungrekhola.
Former Shankarpur VDC is now divided into three wards--8, 9 and 10-- and all three the ward offices are functioning from the building of the erstwhile VDC office located in Solti Bazaar.
Similarly, previous Rajghat village development committee has been divided into three wards--5, 6 and 7--- and the offices of all the three wards are operating from the office building of erstwhile Rajghat VDC.
The previous Karmaiya VDC has also been divided into three wards--4, 11 and 12--- and the three ward offices are functioning from the erstwhile VDC office of Karmaiya located in Ward No. 11.
Dhungrekhola VDC has also been divided into three wards-1, 2 and 3-- and the three ward offices are operating from the previous Dhungrekhola VDC building now located in Bagmati-1.
Apart from the four wards-- 1, 5, 8 and 11-- other eight wards of Bagmati Municipality do not have their ward offices in their area.
Dipesh Karki, a local, said that the locals of eight wards were forced to take services from the joint ward offices.
The entire work of the ward is being done from one room, where the employees, service seekers and the people-elected representatives have to sit together.
Leela Kumari Moktan, Deputy Mayor of the municipality, said that separate ward offices could not be established in lack of budget.
