Rokaya clinches COAS Open Marathon title

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 12: Army man Rajan Rokaya clinched the title of the COAS Open Marathon in the capital on Saturday.

Runner Rokaya of Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) won the race completing the 42.195 KM distance in 02 hours 20 minutes and 08 seconds to achieve the milestone in the open marathon.

Similarly, Khadak Bahadur Khadka of TAC finished at the second place after he crossed the finishing line in 02 hours, 21 minutes and 43 seconds while Krishna Bahadur Basnet of TAC ended the race at the third place with a timing of 02 hours, 22 minutes and 22 seconds. 

Title winner Rokaya bagged Rs. 300,000 and Yamaha motorbike while first runner up Khadka bgged Rs. 200,000 and the third place Basnet received Rs. 100,000. Pachhai and Adhikari lifts half-marathon titles

Dipak Adhikari of TAC and Rajpura Pachhai of Nepal Police Club (NPC) bagged the title of Half-Marathon in the men's and women's categories respectively.

Adhikari bagged the title of half-marathon after he completed his 21.0975 KM race in 01 hour, 04 minutes and 06 seconds while Pachhai touched  the finishing line in the 01 hour, 14 minutes and 34 minutes to win the women's  title. Similarly, half-marathon women's category winner Pachhai received an electric motorbike. 

Each winners in the men's and women's received Rs. 75,000 respectively.

Similarly, Army man Mukesh Pal finished at the second place and his team mate Tritha Pun sealed his journey at the third place in the men's section while Purna Laxmi Neupane of TAC finished at the second place and her team mate Nirmala KC ended the race at the third place.
