Nepal defeats China by 19 runs

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 27: Nepal's women's cricket team defeated China by 19 runs in Asian Games Women's Qualifier match held at Kuala Lumpur today. 

Nepal's team set a target of 125 runs in 20 overs with a loss of 5 wickets.

Puja Mahato scored 63 runs in 57 balls, Rubi Poddar scored unbeaten 22 runs 25 balls, Sony Pakhrin scored 18 runs in 24 balls, Samjhana Khadka scored 4 runs in 3 balls, kabita kumwar socred 5 runs in 9 balls. 

For China, Ma Ruike took 2 wickets, Wang Huiying took 1 wicket, Jiaping Li took 1 wicket.

Chasing the target, Mingyue Zhu (Captain) scored 30 runs in 28 balls, Wang Huiying scored 21 runs in 28 balls, Jiaping Li scored 15 runs in 24 balls, Wei Haiting scored 18 runs 26 balls, Gong Yuting scored 3 runs in 12 balls. China scored 106 runs in 20 overs with a loss of 5 wickets. 

Leading wicket taker Riya Sharma took 2 wickets, Manisha Upadhayay, Kabita Kuwar, Puja Mahato took one wicket each. 

Riya Sharma was awarded player of the match.
