Gosainkunda Mela begins, 15,000 pilgrims expected to visit

By Namaraj Subedi, Rasuwa, Aug. 4: The Gosainkunda Mela has been started. The festival begins every year from Naag Panchami to Janai Purnima on the occasion of Janai Purnima.

This year the festival was started from Tuesday on the occasion of Naag Panchami.

Gosainkunda Area Development Committee has said that pilgrims have started to visit Gosainkunda to participate in the festival. 

Due to no road obstructions, safe trekking route and low rainfall about 15,000 devotees are expected to visit the festival this year. 

Last year around 10,000 pilgrims visited the festival. 

According to Committee, Dhunche-Gosainkunda, Thadepati-Gosainkunda, Yarsa-Gosainkunda and Sagarkunda-Gosainkunda are four trekking routes to reach Gosainkunda.
