Sarlahi, July 24: A girl has been found buried after 48 days of missing from Parsa Rural Municipality of Sarlahi district on Friday. The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Nisha Yadav, a resident of Ward No. 1 of Parsa.  "Nisha's body was recovered from the field owned by her in-laws," said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bijay Yadav.

DSP Yadav, who is also the spokesperson for Sarlahi District Police, informed that they have arrested three individuals for murdering Nisha.

Nisha's husband Rajesh Kumar Yadav aka Baldutta, father-in-law Ram Pratap Yadav and brother-in-law Raju Yadav have been arrested.

Sarlahi's Chief District Officer Thaneshwor Gautam, Police Chief SP Prabin Pokhrel and local representatives were present while the field was dug and Nisha's body recovered.

"The trio was arrested two days ago for investigation. They accepted the crime and showed the place where Nisha was buried," said DSP Yadav.

Nisha, a resident of Sonama Rural Municipality in Mahottari district, had tied a knot with Rajesh Kumar one-and-a-half year ago.

On June 4, 2022, Nisha had a dispute with her husband. On June 5, Nisha's father Kailash Yadav had arrived at her in-law's house and returned in the evening. After Nisha's father returned, she was murdered. They then took her body to their field around four-kilometres away and buried her six feet deep.

The trio had even planted paddy over the area where Nisha was buried. "Nisha's body was burned before burying. Her in-laws then informed Nisha's maternal family that she had gone missing," said DSP Yadav.

Kailash, Nisha's father, had then reached the in-laws house on June 6. He searched for his daughter but with no options left, he reached the Sarlahi District Police Office on June 7 and filed a missing complaint.Police informed that they were conducting further investigation. They suspect that Nisha was murdered for bringing fewer dowries.
