Kathmandu, April 11: The Ministry of Health and Population has introduced the ‘Hospital Service Reform Procedure 2082’.
The procedure has been issued in accordance with the Public Health Service Act, 2075 to make hospital services people-friendly, accessible and effective, said the Ministry’s Joint Spokesperson Dr Sameer Adhikari.

An integrated e-record system should be developed to manage patient treatment records and follow-up, laboratory reports should be provided 24 hours a day, and doctors should only recommend medicines available in the hospital’s pharmacy.
Similarly, if a patient needs to be referred they should be sent to a government hospital with a refer slip. The hospital should manage daily required medicines in the pharmacy, and drug sales promoters (MRs) should not be allowed to enter during office hours and during service delivery. (RSS)
