Local level should be more accountable to health care services, stakeholders say

Patan (Lalitpur), April 11: The stakeholders have asked the local levels to remain more accountable to the health care services as well as the rights ensured to them.     

At a district-level review meeting organized by Ayurveda and Alternative Medicine, Lalitpur here today, the speakers viewed that the health care facilities should focus the citizens' key health concerns.     

On the occasion, Senior Consultant of the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Pushparaj Paudel said that the local level and the officials deployed there should be further responsible to provide citizens' wellness service.     

"It is the local level's responsibility to provide basic level health care services. Such services should be provided to the citizens in an accessible manner. For this, each government health care official should responsible and accountable," Dr Paudel added.     

Likewise, Information Officer of Health Ministry of the Bagmati Province, Dr Amulya Dahal, urged to draft pragmatic plans to provide effective health care in the field of Ayurveda and alternative medicine.     

Dr Punam Nepal, the Chief Ayurveda Consultant of the Ayurveda and Alternative Medicine, Lalitpur shared that there were massive concerns to Ayurveda and alternative medicine in the recent days, adding that further awakening was needed among the general public in this field.(RSS)
