Voting stalled at 3 polling centers in Dhankuta

By Kokila Bhandari, Dhankuta, May 13: Voting at three polling centers in Dhankuta district has been suspended woing to scuffles.

Chiranjivi Dahal, Deputy Inspector of Police (DSP) and spokesperson of the district police office, informed that the voting could not be resumed despite efforts to calm down the infuriated cadres of the political parties.

Voting has been stalled at the booths in Thakurdevi Secondary School and Ward office building of ward-6 of Sahidbhoomi Rural Municipality.

Representatives of CPN (UML) and the left-democratic alliance had clashed with each other over voting issues.

Phadindra Prasad Parajuli, chief election officer of Dhankuta district, said that the voting for today was suspended as no solution to the dispute could be found despite efforts through dialogue among the disputing parties.
