of all the 20 passengers who were killed in the Rolpa jeep accident on Thursday
afternoon have been ascertained.
A person who survived by jumping off the jeep as he
was on rooftop has been discharged from hospital.
A jeep, Lu 1 Ja 4167, carrying pilgrims to Jaljala
of Rolpa had veered some 800 meters off the road at Thawang Rural
Municipality-1 in Rolpa.
Of the deceased, most are from Rukumkot of Rukum
Purba district while some are from Dang district.
Sunil Thapa Nepali, information officer and police
inspector at the Rolpa district police office, said that the deceased are
Gorkha BK, 32, Til Kumari Budhathoki, 53, Yuva BC, 28, Divyan BC, 10, Srijana
Budhathoki, 24, Sudip Budhathoki, 13 and Om Kumari Budhathoki, 40. All of these
are from Takura of Sisne Rural Municipality-5 in Rukum Purba.
Jeep driver Bedu Kami, 42, a resident of Shanti
Nagar in Dang, Meena Kamini, 60 and Laxmi Shah, 60 of Sisne-5 and Tek Prasad
Basnet and Rukmina Basnet, 27, of Bhume Rural Municipality are among the
deceased.
Of the deceased from Ghorahi Sub metropolis of Dang
district are Dorpati GC, 54 of Ghorahi-15, Tila GC, 32, Jenish GC, 7, Jenisha
GC, 12, Elina GC, 25, Samyog GC, 7, Yam Bahadur GC and Dhan Maha Bista of
Ghorahi-13.
The government has formed a probe committee into the
accident.
