By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 1: Over six thousand depositors have applied at the Cooperatives Department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City requesting to get their saving amount of Rs. 4 billion 775 million withdrawn.
Dhruba Kumar Kafle, chief of the KMC cooperatives
department, 6300 depositors have applied in a period of a month since 30 April to
date.
He said most depositors had saved Rs. 1 lakh to 5
lakh in cooperatives. Number of small depositors is heavy, he said, adding,
they account for over 78%.
The KMC's department is facilitating on both deposit
repay and loan recovery of the cooperatives.
Because of the facilitation from the KMC department,
Buddha Darsan Saving and Credit Cooperatives Lt located at KMC-6 returned their
savings to 34 depositors on last Monday
and Tuesday, said department chief Kafle.
