Weather forecast: rain likely in some areas

Kathmandu, June 1: There will be generally cloudy across various parts of the country today.

As forecast by the Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there will be partly to generally cloudy over hilly and mountainous regions while the Terai region will experience partly cloudy conditions.

Similarly, light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, has been expected in a few places across the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. One or two places in the Terai regions of Koshi and Lumbini provinces are likely to receive rainfall. Light snowfall is also possible in higher elevations.

Tonight, there will be generally cloudy in the mountainous regions, while partly cloudy in the hills, and mainly fair in the Terai. 

There is a chance of light rain or snowfall at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Sudurpashchim and Karnali provinces, as well as in the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, it is said.  (RSS)
