Kathmandu, May 1: Riding on a brilliant century by Vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee, Nepal has posted 289 runs in 50 overs against the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Airee belted 100 runs in 94 balls including 13 fours and 1 six.
In the match underway at the TU International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, under the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2, Nepal chose to bat first after winning the toss, and made a good outcome of the decision posting a victory target of 290 runs at the loss of 7 wickets.
Opening batsman Binod Bhandari was the second top scorer with a half century, 56 runs in 79 balls. Gulshan Jha (44 in 38 balls) and Captain Rohit Paudel (39 in 48 balls) were other significant contributors to the Nepali total.
