Kanchanpur-based institutional schools directed not to overcharge students

Kanchanpur, May 8: The Education Development and Coordination Unit, Kanchanpur has directed institutional (private) schools in the district not to charge students additional fees.

Unit Chief Laxman Giri said that complaints have been received that some institutional schools have overcharged students, collected annual fees under various headings, and charged exam fees for the new admission. They are alleged of not providing official payment slips as well.

 The Unit has reminded private schools that such activities are against the existing Education Act, Regulations and Schools Classification and Fees Determination Procedure-2078 BS, urging them to promptly halt such practices. 

It has also urged the respective local levels to monitor the schools fee structures and collections and take action if any unlawful collection is found. (RSS)
