By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 21: Vice-President Ram Sahay Yadav has extended his heartfelt wishes for happiness, peace, prosperity, and good health to all Nepali Muslims at home and abroad on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. He expressed his hope that the festival would inspire a spirit of broader national unity.

Eid-ul-Fitr, celebrated following the discipline of Roza (fasting), self-restraint, and the devotion of Namaz (prayers), is a symbol of spiritual purity and advancement. This festival teaches the lessons of patience and self-control, said a press statement issued by Office of the Vice-President.

The traditions of Iftar and communal prayers strengthen the bonds of unity and coexistence within our country and communities, while the practice of charity fosters compassion for the poor and those in need, the Vice-President said.

Meanwhile, Muslims all over the country are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr by exchanging greetings and best wishes and relishing delicacies on Saturday.

The festival marks the end of the month-long Ramadan fast.

The Muslim community of the Kathmandu Valley will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, the great festival of peace and harmony, by organising various programmes on Saturday.

Eid-ul-Fitr will also be celebrated in different parts of Banke district with grand fairs and mass prayers wishing for peace and prosperity in the nation.

The formal programme of Eid-ul-Fitr will start with mass prayers at the Central Eidgah in Nepalgunj in the morning.

A large number of Muslim clerics, leaders, and members of the general public who will gather at the Eidgah for mass prayers will offer collective prayers for the country’s peace, prosperity and unity.

Religious leaders will wish for peace, prosperity, and development in the country. They will say that Eid is a festival of peace and brotherhood and that it will help unite everyone.

After the Eid prayers, people will exchange greetings with each other by organising Eid unity programmes.
