By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 16: With the coordination of the Ministry of Defence and the Nepali Army, the 11th edition of the ‘Advance Course on National Security,’ being conducted at the Army Command and Staff College, Shivapuri, was inaugurated by Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS), General Ashok Raj Sigdel on Sunday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Defence Secretary Kedarnath Sharma highlighted the importance and necessity of high-level national security training.
The training programme, which will continue until April 1, includes participation from 30 representatives from various ministries, constitutional bodies, universities, media, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force Nepal, National Investigation Department Nepal, and the Nepali Army.
Since the programme began in 2022, a total of 252 participants have already been trained and completed the course, according to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Army Headquarters.
The programme was attended by government secretaries, ambassadors, Inspectors General of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force Nepal, Chief Investigation Director of the National Investigation Department, Rector of Tribhuvan University, and other high-ranking officials, as well as representatives from various ministries, government and non-government organisations, diplomats, lawyers, and journalists.
It is believed that such high-level training programmes will enhance knowledge, understanding, and perspectives on national security issues and contribute to strengthening effective coordination among state institutions.
