Malkabang gets drinking water facility

Myagdi, April 15: A drinking water project has been constructed at Malkabang of Dhawalagiri rural municipality-5 in Myagdi district. An arrangement has been made to distribute drinking water in houses through 89 water taps from the project constructed at a cost of Rs 5.436 million.

Chairperson of Drinking Water Consumer Committee, Ras Bahadur Chhantyal, shared that they have been distributing drinking water by installing water taps at 86 houses, one school, one health post and one ward office.

He added that Newa organization invested Rs 2.699 million while Dhawalagiri rural municipality  provided Rs 1.925 million for the construction of the drinking water project.

Similarly, consumers provided Rs 157,930 financial assistance as well as made labour contribution equal to Rs 653,917 for the purpose.  

Earlier, drinking water used to be distributed through public water tap in Malkabang. Locals are elated after getting drinking water facility at their own houses.  

Ward Chairperson Amar Chhantyal said drinking water facility has been expanded by installing water taps in 185 houses of Malkabang, Malampar and Bhedikhalta of Dhawalagiri rural municipality-5. (RSS)
