Five lakh forty one thousand revenue collected in traffic action in 24 hrs

Kathmandu, May 31: In the last 24 hours, the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office reported the prosecution of 1,994 motorists for various traffic violations, resulting in a revenue collection of 541,502 rupees.     

Among those penalized, 127 individuals were apprehended for driving under the influence of alcohol, while 142 were engaged in illegal ride-sharing activities. Furthermore, 149 motorists were cited for violating traffic signal regulations, and 103 were penalized for speeding.     

Other infractions included 158 cases of lane discipline violations, 130 instances of honking in restricted areas, 128 vehicles parked in road zones, 95 drivers on one-way streets, and 962 additional traffic rule violations.     

This enforcement underscores the ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and ensure compliance with traffic regulations in the area.(RSS)
