By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 4: The folk-rock band Nepathya is set to perform for its home audience in Pokhara this week with Nepal’s sports community.
According to a press release issued by Nepalaya, the band will be performing at Pokhara Stadium on November 7, marking its return to the stage there after three years.
This time, the band’s concert aims to promote cricket. Nepathya last performed in Pokhara on December 27, 2022, dedicating the show to humanitarian causes.
Nepathya is performing under the theme ‘Nepathya for Sports’, supporting the Nepal Premier League (NPL) franchise team Pokhara Avengers in unveiling their new jersey. The band hopes that its performance will connect a large number of music lovers with the world of sports.
People who purchase a Pokhara Avengers jersey will be granted free entry to Friday evening’s concert, mentioned in the press release.
“The love and enthusiasm that Pokhara’s residents have shown for Pokhara Avengers and Nepathya has greatly encouraged us,” said Subodh Tripathi, chairman of the team. “It’s a matter of pride for both cricket supporters and music lovers.”
On the day of the concert, another 2,000 jerseys will be distributed directly from the stadium gate. The organisers said that income from the jersey sales will be used to provide cricket kits to community schools in the Gandaki Province.
