Kankrebihar (Surkhet), Oct 7: The Karnali Province Government has constructed 4,856 houses so far for poor and needy people.
Such number of houses was constructed at different local levels of 10 districts of Karnali Province under the People's Housing (Province), People's Housing (Federation) and Indigent House Building Programme.
Spokesperson at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development, Ramesh Subedi, shared that 3,150 houses were constructed under People's Housing (Federal) Programme while 522 houses under People's Housing (Province) in the fiscal year 2080/81
Similarly, 380 houses were constructed by federation and 184 by provinces in the fiscal year 2081/82.
Likewise, 396 houses were constructed under the Poor's Housing Programme in the fiscal year 2080/81 and 223 houses in fiscal year 2081/82.
The highest number of houses was constructed in Kalikot under People's Housing Programme (Federation) in the fiscal year 2081/82, which is 181, followed by Surkhet (142), Dailekh (38) and Jajarkot (19).
Under the People's Housing Programme (Province), 33 houses were built in Surket followed by Dailekh (14), Surkhet (16), Rukum (West) (23), Jajarkot (27), Dolpa (14), Jumla (21), Mugu (six), Kalikot (10) and Humla (20).
Similarly, 36 houses were constructed in Surkhet, 39 in Dailekh, 13 in salyan, 23 in Rukum (West), 23 in Jajarkot, 11 in Dolpa, 20 in Jumla, eight in Mugu, 30 in Kalikot and 20 in Humla under the Poor's Housing Programme, mentioned Subedi.
A total of 787 houses were constructed in fiscal year 2024/25.(RSS)
