Minor murdered after abduction in Siraha

Siraha, Sept.23: The body of a kidnapped teenager from Dangrah, Golbazar Municipality-13, here, was found this morning.

Police said that the body of 17-year-old Abhishek Mahato, who was abducted on Sunday night, was found in a mango orchard 100 meters east of his home.

Abhishek, who was driving his own tractor, had gone for a walk in the chowk near his house after having dinner on Sunday night. 

He did not return home after that. His family searched the village and the surrounding areas all night but were unable to find him.

On Monday morning, the Mahato family filed a petition for the safe rescue of Abhishek at the Area Police Office, Golbazar, after a ransom call asking for Rs 50 million from Imo on their mobile phone.

The family also informed the police on Monday that the kidnapping group had called on Abhishek's mother's cell to pay a ransom of Rs 50 million if she wanted her son alive.

Govinda Sah, Police Inspector of Golbazar Area Police Office, said, “An investigation into the matter is underway.”

According to Dharmesh Kumar Yadav, Information Officer at the District Police Office, preparations are being made to bring in dogs to investigate the incident.
