Nepal Rastra Bank urges banks and financial institutions to resume services

Kathmandu, Sept.11: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has urged banks and financial institutions to operate essential banking and digital payment services with limited staff.

Rastra Bank has asked all licensed banks, development banks, finance companies, and payment-related institutions to continue services.

In a notice made public here today by the Nepal Rastra Bank, it is mentioned that instructions have been given to make such arrangements in view of the provisions regarding the prohibitory order issued by the Nepal Army on September 10.

The notice states, "Banks and financial institutions will be required to operate their sensitive systems with limited staff to provide essential banking and digital payment services."

Similarly, all organizations have been urged to inform the general public about the branches, ATMs, and services available through their websites and social media.
