By Vijay Kumar Sah, Dhalkebar, July 4: The clash has taken place between Armed Police Force (APF) and the smugglers in Duhabi, Bideha Municipality-2, a border region of Dhanusha district. The scuffle took place when the APF tried to seize the smuggled goods.
According to APF, six members of APF including Deputy Superintendent of Police of APF Dinesh Sharma has sustained injuries. The injured police are undergoing treatment at the local health institution.
According to the Superintendent of Police (SP)of the APF battalion of Dhanusha Nirmal Khadka, APF police were suddenly attacked when they were trying to seize the smuggled good that was kept hidden by smugglers.
He said that 12 rounds of tear gas and four rounds of shots has been fired in the air as a self defense when APF attacked out of nowhere.
Smugglers were trying to smuggle goods in the country through the area of Indian side and the tussle took place where trying to seize those goods.
All the smugglers are at large after the struggle.
SP Khadka said that a team has been mobilized to further investigate the situation.
