Kavrepalanchowk, June 14: Four industries operated at Mandandeupur municipality of Kavrepalanchowk have been closed down for their failure to pay tax.
These industries were locked after they did not pay tax despite frequent requests, according to the municipality. A team led by Mayor Tok Bahadur Waiba comprising people's representatives on Friday padlocked the crusher and brick industries that were not renewed nor registered. They failed to pay tax either.
The team had locked three brick industries and one crusher industry. The Washing and Crushing Industry operated at Mandandeupuer-9 owes Rs 4.58 million in tax since fiscal year 2078/79 BS, while the Kalidevi Bricks Industry located at Mandandeupur-6 has Rs 6.1 million to pay.
The Dakshinkali Bricks Industry owes Rs 4.58 million tax. The team shut down the Chandeni-Nagarkot Bricks Industry because it was not renewed for long.
Mayor Waiba said they were compelled to shut down the industries after they turned deaf ears to the frequent requests of local levels. He, however, informed the industries would be opened if they fulfilled the criteria and submitted tax determined by the municipality. (RSS)
