NLA launches 'Intellect Horizon'

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 26: Nepal Library Association (NLA) brought out its first annual magazine 'Intellect Horizon' at a function held here Friday, coinciding with the International Education Day. 

The new publication marks a significant milestone in the association’s efforts to promote library science and the importance of libraries in education, said a NLA press statement.

Speaking at the programme, Ramesh Niroula, chief editor of the magazine, highlighted the critical role of libraries in advancing education, emphasizing their significance in creating equitable access to knowledge and bridging the information gap in society.

NLA president Pushpa Raj Subedi said that the magazine represented the collective efforts of library professionals and stood as a testament to their dedication to enhancing the role of libraries in education and community development.

"Intellect Horizon aims to serve as a vital resource for library professionals, educators, and students by featuring insightful articles, research papers, case studies, and updates on the latest trends and developments in library science," stated the NLA 

A host of library professions, including Dashrath Thapa, former chief of Nepal National Library and journalist Laxman Viyogi jointly released the magazine. 

A panel discussion on “Libraries as Pillars of Education and Development,” was also held at the programme attended by experts and professionals such as including chiefs of Keiser Library Yadhav Chandra Niroula, head Nepal National Library Pradeep Bhattarai, Undersecretary of Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration Arun Kumar Rai and former heads of Central Department of Library and Information Science Nira Manandhar and Sita Sharma.
