By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 19: A poster art exhibition titled ‘Loktantra Ra Sambidhan’, organised by the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) to mark the Constitution Day, began on Wednesday at NAFA.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Narad Mani Hartamchhali, the Chancellor of NAFA.
Speaking at the event, the Chancellor emphasised that poster art is based on artistic information and is subjective, and therefore, its analysis should be approached accordingly. He further added that the essence of the Constitution and democracy should be conveyed to the general public through education, awareness, and art.
Similarly, the member secretary of NAFA, Debendra Kumar Kafle ‘Thumkeli’, highlighted that artists are the creators of their era, and their work should be presented as it is, without modification. Thumkeli added that the main objective of the exhibition was to spread the essence of the Constitution.
On the occasion of Constitution Day, a competition was held. Yam Kumari Kulung won the first place, while Mukti Chalise, Legden Sanmo Tamang, and Samjana received second, third, and consolation prizes, respectively.
The first, second, third, and consolation prize winners received Rs. 15,000, Rs. 12,000, Rs. 10,000, and Rs. 8,000, respectively. The poster art competition will continue until September 26.
