Transparent and accountable journalism backbone of democracy: Speaker Aryal

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 7: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Dol Prasad Aryal has said that independent, accountable, and respectful journalism is the backbone for the strengthening of democracy. 

He emphasized the need for the media to strongly raise the voice of the citizens and continuously caution for good governance, transparency, and accountability.

Extending good wishes on the 126th anniversary of the Gorkhapatra daily today, he said, "Independent, accountable, and respectful journalism is the backbone for the consolidation of democracy. There is a need for media to strongly raise the voice of the citizens and continuously alert for good governance, transparency, and accountability."
