Khushma team busy promoting film

By Our Correspondent,Kaski, Sept. 10: The film unit of Khushma, which is set to be released on September 19, is currently busy with its promotional activities.

 The film, which depicts the Magar community of Rukum, is scheduled to be released on Constitution Day.

Ashok Thapa, the director of the film, said, “We have done our best in making this film, and the audience will like it.”

Khushma is Thapa’s debut feature film, as he was previously involved in making documentaries.

Upasana Singh Thakuri and Dhiraj Magar, who play the lead roles in the film, said they have taken on different roles compared to their previous work.

 They said that the film presents a simple love story in the best possible way.

Most of the scenes in the film were shot in Maikot, Rukum, the origin place of the Pun Magar community. 

The film was shot over 45 days in Taksera of Rukum, Upper Manang, Pokhara, and Kathmandu. 

The budget of the movie is over Rs. 30 million, according to the film unit.

 Other actors, including Maotse Gurung, Khadka Bahadur Pun, Sujata Rai, Bijaya Subba, Raj Thap and Sangita Thapa Magar have done the film.

Written by director Thapa himself, the film is produced under the M Media banner. 

Chandra Bahadur Bhattachan, Betan Magar and Bir Bahadur Lama are the main investors in the film.

A song from the film, ‘Rukum Maikot’, is currently trending at number 1 on YouTube. Likewise, another song, ‘Khusika Phulharu’, which was released earlier, has also been well-received by the audience.

The teaser for the film was released four weeks ago, and the film unit has announced plans to release the trailer this week.
