DC assumes office as FDB Chairman

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 3: Actor, director and programme presenter Dinesh DC, who was appointed Chairman of the Film Development Board (FDB), Nepal, assumed office on Monday. On Monday morning, after receiving the appointment letter from the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, DC reached the Board’s office and assumed his responsibilities.

While taking over the position, Chairman DC said he joined the board not to get a job but to work. A Cabinet meeting held on Thursday last week appointed DC as the Chairman of the Film Development Board. The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology had recommended three names from the applicants for the position of chairman, including Deepa Pandey and Rajesh Thapa.  

DC, a film director, actor, and journalist, is also the president of the pro-communist CPN-UML-affiliated Janapakshiya Film Workers Union.  Born in Ilam, DC began his acting career with the film ‘Sunchandi’ released in 1997. Most recently, he directed the film ‘Phulaiphulko Mausam Timilai’.
